AIApply and Careery both end with applications submitted in your name. The difference is who sits at the controls.
With AIApply, you buy credits, pick a mode and watch a dashboard. With Careery, you pay once for a set number of months, and a team runs the search for you while software submits the applications.
This page compares what each costs per month, who checks what goes out, what you can get back, and which fits a visa deadline.
The verdict: AIApply vs Careery at a glance
Pick AIApply if you want the cheapest way to automate applications and you will check the work yourself. Pick Careery if you would rather pay more for a team that runs and checks the search for you.
| AIApply | Careery | |
|---|---|---|
| Who does the work | You configure the software and approve or monitor its output. Auto mode sends without your input; Review mode asks you to approve each job | Software submits; a team of people sets up the search, checks the resume and screening answers, monitors submissions and replies to you |
| Where applications go | The help-center article on how Auto Apply works does not say which sites it submits on | Employer career sites, such as Workday, Greenhouse, Lever and Ashby |
| Price model | Monthly or quarterly credits: $49/month for 100, $99/month for 250, $199/quarter for 750. Tailored resume and cover letter add-ons are $12/month each | One-time plans: Standard $500 for 3 months; Premium $750 for 6 months with resume rebuild, LinkedIn rewrite and a 30-second video resume. Premium can also be paid in three installments |
| Refunds | Generally non-refundable; Auto Apply is non-refundable once applications are submitted. Narrow exceptions apply (see the AIApply review) | Generally non-refundable once service starts (Terms, section 6) |
| Human check of screening answers | None described. AIApply answers application questions and you can view them in each job's Review tab afterward | Yes. A team checks your resume and screening answers, including sponsorship and work-authorization answers |
| Visa-sensitive searches | The help-center articles checked do not address visa sponsorship or work authorization | Postings requiring US citizenship are skipped for visa holders; on H-1B, postings that say they will not sponsor are skipped too |
| Best for | Budget-conscious, hands-on job seekers who want writing and interview tools in the same account | People short on time, or on a visa clock, who want someone else to run and watch the search |
The real difference: a tool you operate vs a service that operates for you
Both automate the form-filling. The real choice is who owns the process.
AIApply: you are the operator
The three modes trade speed for control:
- Auto: "All matching jobs are applied to automatically without any input from you."
- Hybrid: jobs above a fit threshold go out automatically and the rest wait for you. One article says 70, another says 75%+, so confirm it in your account.
- Review: "Every job suggestion requires your approval before an application is submitted."
Careery: a team is the operator
Careery is not a tool you log into and run. Software fills in and submits applications on employer career sites, and people on the team set up your search, check your resume and screening answers, watch the submissions and reply when you write to them.
A Careery customer's agent sends a median of 96 applications a week: the median across the 52 paying customers whose agent sent applications in every week from September 28 to October 25, 2026 (34,891 applications in total over those four weeks), Careery production data. That is volume, not interviews or offers, and Careery's terms guarantee neither.
You give up direct control in exchange. If you want a different target role or location, you tell the team rather than change a setting yourself.
AIApply sells you the machine and the controls. Careery sells you people running the machine. Decide which you are short on: money, or time and attention.
What each costs per month of active search
AIApply bills by credits and Careery by months, so the table converts both into list price per month of searching.
| Setup | Paid | Per month of search | What that covers |
|---|---|---|---|
| AIApply Auto Apply 100 | $49/month | $49 | 100 applications |
| AIApply 100 + tailored resume + tailored cover letter | $73/month | $73 | 100 applications with tailored documents |
| AIApply Auto Apply 250 + both add-ons | $123/month | $123 | 250 applications with tailored documents |
| AIApply quarterly | $199/quarter | about $66 | 750 applications, all available from day one |
| Careery Standard | $500 once | about $167 (3 months) | Managed applications for 3 months |
| Careery Premium | $750 once | $125 (6 months) | Managed applications for 6 months, resume rebuild, LinkedIn rewrite, 30-second video resume |
| Careery Premium in installments | $275, then $375, then $375 | $1,025 total | Same as Premium, paid in three stages |
Over a longer search the gap narrows. Six months of AIApply's 100 plan with both tailoring add-ons is $438 at list price; six months of the 250 plan with both add-ons is $738. Careery Premium for the same six months is $750. Add AIApply's Premium toolkit or Interview Buddy and the self-serve total rises further, since each is a separate subscription.
Careery's median of 96 a week is above the pace of AIApply's $99 plan (250 credits a month), but AIApply's daily cap goes up to 100, so a buyer with enough credits can send more. What matters is how many of those applications fit you.
Risks to weigh before you pay either one
With AIApply
- Auto mode submits without your input, and no mode lets you approve the tailored resume or screening answers before they go out.
- Auto Apply is non-refundable once applications are submitted; renewals and disappointing results are generally excluded too.
- Unused credits roll over while you stay subscribed, but are lost at the end of the billing period if you cancel.
- The terms say some platforms restrict automation and 'you are responsible for compliance' (Terms v2.3, section 15, updated October 26, 2026).
- Interview Buddy is 'designed to be invisible to screen sharing'. That is not permission from an employer; check their interview rules.
With Careery
- Bigger upfront payment. $500 or $750 at once, or $275 to start on the installment plan. Careery's terms say the fee is generally non-refundable once service starts.
- No promised outcome. Section 13 of the terms says Careery cannot guarantee job offers, interviews or employment.
- Less hands-on control. You steer by writing to the team, not by flipping a mode.
- Sponsorship is filtered by what postings say. On H-1B, postings that say they will not sponsor are skipped, but postings that say nothing about sponsorship stay in. Careery does not keep a list of sponsoring employers, so some employers it applies to may not file a petition (H-1B page).
Who should choose AIApply, and who should choose Careery
| Choose AIApply if you... | Choose Careery if you... |
|---|---|
| Need to keep spending under about $100 a month | Can pay $500 to $750 once (or $275 to start) to hand off the search |
| Will check the dashboard, inbox and submitted answers every day | Do not have time to monitor a tool, or tried one and stopped checking |
| Want a resume builder, mock interviews or a live interview helper in the same account | Want a person to check screening answers before applications go out |
| Have a straightforward search with no work-authorization questions | Are on H-1B, OPT or an H-4 EAD and want a team to check your sponsorship and authorization answers |
| Want to approve each job yourself (Review mode) | Want submissions on employer career sites run for 3 or 6 months without renewals |

Whatever you pick, run the same test after two weeks: how many submitted applications actually matched your target, and how many interview invitations came back.
- 01AIApply is self-serve software from $49/month; Careery is a managed service at $500 for 3 months or $750 for 6.
- 02AIApply leaves monitoring to you and describes no pre-send check of screening answers; Careery's team checks them.
- 03Both are effectively non-refundable once work starts, and neither guarantees interviews or offers.
- 04AIApply bundles more self-serve tools; Careery is built for people who want the search run for them, including visa holders.
Is Careery an AI auto-apply tool like AIApply?
Partly. Software submits Careery's applications on employer career sites, but customers do not operate it. A team of people sets up the search, checks the resume and screening answers, monitors submissions and replies to the customer.
Is AIApply cheaper than Careery?
Yes per month. AIApply Auto Apply starts at $49/month for 100 applications, or $73 with both tailoring add-ons. Careery is $500 for 3 months or $750 for 6 months. Over six months, AIApply's 250 plan with both add-ons comes to $738 at list price.
Does AIApply have an interview copilot, and does Careery?
AIApply sells Interview Buddy, a desktop app for live interview help, at $19/month or $99/year, separately from Auto Apply. Careery does not offer an interview copilot. Check an employer's rules before using live AI help in an interview.
Can I get a refund from AIApply or Careery?
AIApply's policy says Auto Apply is non-refundable once applications are submitted, with narrow exceptions for verified technical failures and accidental purchases reported within 30 minutes. Careery's terms say all sales are final and non-refundable. The AIApply review covers the exceptions in detail.
Which is better for H-1B, OPT or H-4 EAD job seekers?
The AIApply help-center articles checked for this page do not address sponsorship or work authorization. Careery skips postings requiring US citizenship for visa holders and, on H-1B, postings that say they will not sponsor; the team checks sponsorship answers. Neither can guarantee a petition.
What is the best AIApply alternative in 2026?
For self-serve software at a similar price, compare LazyApply, LoopCV and JobCopilot. For a done-for-you service, compare managed application services such as Careery and reverse recruiters on scope, total cost and refund terms.
